Solar Pumps: common questions
Do solar water pumps need batteries?
No. Water is stored in tanks instead of electricity in batteries. An AC/DC hybrid controller can add grid or generator backup if water is needed at night.
What is an MPPT solar pump controller?
Maximum Power Point Tracking continuously adjusts the operating voltage and current to extract the most power the panels can produce, increasing daily water output, especially in morning, evening and cloudy conditions.
Helical rotor or centrifugal solar pump — which do I need?
Helical (screw) rotor pumps are efficient for low flows at high heads, ideal for deep livestock wells. Multistage centrifugal solar pumps deliver larger flows at moderate heads for irrigation.
Can I order mixed models in one shipment?
