Submersible & Sewage: common questions
What is the difference between a sewage pump and a drainage pump?
Drainage pumps handle relatively clean water with small solids. Sewage pumps have vortex, channel or cutting impellers to pass larger solids, fibres and sludge.
Can submersible pumps run dry?
They should not. Use a float switch or level controller so the pump stops before the liquid level drops below the motor.
Stainless steel or cast iron sewage pump?
Stainless steel resists corrosive effluents and is lighter; cast iron is robust and economical for domestic sewage and dewatering.
Can I order mixed models in one shipment?
Yes. Most customers combine several models — and often several product families — in one pallet or container order to keep stock balanced.
